..Procedure Day - HyFoSy..

Hey Guys!!

So.... It's been 1 day ago I had the HyFoSy done! It was a smooth journey but pretty less comfy I shall say! Let's start!

So my appointment was arranged at 9am, but I was told to reach at 8.15am for some pre-procedure baseline documentation. Sadly I arrived at 8.45am.. The road jam was massive! I was out on the road since 7.25am, usually takes me about 30 minutes to arrive..
But the staff are nice! They helped me and ensure that I didn't miss the procedure and it's on time! So they wanted me to change into the gown and i was attended by RN Diane and Sonographer (SG) Ann who will be assisting in the procedure. So they asked me few question pertaining to my conditions like last menses date, any medical condition, any surgeries done, miscarriage, abortion etcs... which is all none..
So then she told me to have a seat, while waiting for the doctor to arrive. I was attended by Dr Shabana Rasheed, an amazing Dr I would say! She explained to me with diagram along clearly on what she will be doing with my cervix and womb. Ensure that it will be a smooth and straight forward procedure..

So about 5 minutes later, i was escorted by RN Diane into the procedure room where she told me to empty my bladder and to remove my lower garment and lay down.

I almost have the thought of backing out because I was pretty scared. Mountain Bear wasn't around as I told him that the procedure would take about 2 hours plus I required to be monitored after the procedure, so asked him to take the afternoon off from work instead for the whole day.

So I lay down and SG Ann started doing some baseline ultrasound on my lower abdomen. SN Diane was preping the sterile tray of instruments and tubes for the procedure. So once she has done that, she called Dr Shabana and in less than 5 minutes she came in and off we start!

So here goes the conversation:

Dr: Alright darling can we have your name and NRIC number please?

Me: ******* ******** 1234567F

Dr: Alright dear we shall start the procedure.

So they drape me like a birthday present.. lol! RN Diane was on my left while SG Ann was assisting in the lighting and also controlling the ultrasound machines.

Me: Alright sure.. *resting with my butt lifted to be placed with a hard pillow*

Dr: Alright so now I will insert the speculum just like doing a pap smear..

Me: Uhuh *breath in slowly as RN Diane comfort me by rubbing my knee.

Dr: Ok now we will be just cleaning your labia area and the cervix as well..

Me: Sure.

Dr: Ok now i will be inserting the catheter with the sodium chloride to flush into your uterus. Do let me now if it's painful for you.
*instructing Diane to push in the fluid while she start inserting & using the trans vaginal ultrasound device.*

Me: Ooooo *Sudden cramp felt.. Initially it felt bearable* It's alright I can bear it..

So she took few pictures and move the device left right up and down in my vagina. I swear I imagine as if my vagina will stretch so much that you could fit a football in it by the way she had it move around.. LOL!!

Dr: *after 5 minutes* alright we are done, now I will remove this and insert another catheter that will contain the foam solution and also a balloon for anchoring purposes which i will inflate once it's sits at the entrance of your cervix opening.
Me: Alright sure doctor..

RN Diane: You doing alright dear?

Me: Yeap2 I'm good..

So the Dr insert the catheter and OMG!! The feeling was intense. I almost wanted to stop the procedure due to the discomfort. How does it feel?

It's like you are having a bad menses cramp and you had a bad diarrhea waiting to explode into the toilet bowl with some twisting and pinching sensation.

Dr: You alright dear? I will try to reduce the balloon size alright. But if the catheter slips out, we might need to reinsert it again ya?

Me: Yes Dr, pretty uncomfortable right now but much better once you've reduce the size of the balloon. you may proceed Dr. *smiling*

Dr: Alright now I will insert the device to scan through alright.

Me: *Nodding as i start breathing in and out slowly..*

I could feeling my whole body starts to turn cold and I could feel the sweats developing on my forehead as if i was sweating on a hot day! It was pretty painful for me but I manage to recite some verses, closed my eyes and breath slowly as the Dr starts communicating with the SN Ann..
Dr: Ok take this picture.. *Turn scan device on various angle* alright this one.. Take this one too..

I think she took over 35 pictures of my left and right ovary, the Fallopian tube, the uterus..
So after 30 minutes..

SN Diane: Sorry dear, are you in the Medical Line?

Me: *Shocked* Ummm Yes dear.. How do you know??

SN Diane: Ouhh I accidentally saw your pass hooked onto your bag. Hahaha!

Me: Ouhh hahaha alright!

Dr: Ouh! So are you a Registered Nurse?

Yes.. As she asked me where I've work and how is everything, bla bla  bla.. hehehe

So after another 15 minutes, we are done..

Dr: Alright my dear, we are done. Ann, please do another baseline as I'm not happy with the grainy pictures. Get your partner to fix the machine and redo the images alright..

Me: Alright.. Thank you so much!

So SN Diane help to clean up and pull out the catheter and the sterile drapes off while i decide to lie down still for SG Ann to continue with her baseline images.

As I see Dr Shabana moved to the desk, I heard her say, "please make sure you get the image clear yes? And indicate there "TUBAL PATENT".
When I heard that, subhanallah! I was extremely happy to hear that! Knowing that I do not need any other operation or maybe another painful procedure, I was indeed happy I went through this procedure!

So after SG Ann finish up the final image, she helped me up and I sat down, feeling a gush of blood stained fluids flow out from my vagina.

Me: Is this normal??

SN Diane & SG Ann: Yes ma'am, it's normal, you will see some staining for a few days. It's because Dr was moving the device a little vigorous because there were alot of air in your intestines and it's a little hard to view the tubes..

Me, feeling better upon hearing that, slowly stood up and wipe the gels and such off and wear the pad and was escorted to the nearby toilet to change and check on the discharges.

Once I've change back to my normal attire, i was told to be seated for monitoring..
I swear I feel that my tummy is aching badly and it's suppose to be normal as the uterus is cramping back to it's shape.

They took my blood pressure and it was 112/75. Its consider as normal and I wasn't feeling any giddiness of dizziness at that moment.

So I rest, while listening to other patients being questions upon a certain procedure that they are going through as I closed my eyes.. trying to ignore the cramping that I was currently having..

After 30 minutes later, the department sister in charge walked up to me and asked me to check if there are any heavy bloody discharges and escort me to the toilet. I got up and proceed. Minimal bloody stain discharges I told her. She noted and took my next blood pressure reading.. it was 134/85.

Are you in pain dear?
Because I wanted to go home and knowing that I can bear the pain, I told her that it's bearable currently. She then jot it down and advice me that to call us if it continues to bleed heavily for the next 48 hours. I nodded and was given a Medical Certification for the day.

I realized that it's pretty hard to walk fast as it's still cramping pretty intensely.. So took my time and walk over to the counter for payment.

The procedure was $602+.. With the government subsidy and the use of my medisave, I was left to pay $263.30 in cash. Pass over my card and sat down like an obedient child. hahaha!

Overall the team has been great!! All are polite and attentive, friendly and knowledgeable.. So I walk out from the clinic and move to the free shuttle area. I just wanna go home and rest!!

Tried listening to some of my favorite tune and wishing that I could somehow move to the groove while waiting for the shuttle bus to arrive.. My tummy felt bloated and seems like I'm pregnant! lol!
And of course, I was given a seat in that queue. lol!! Actually I really needed that seat.. I was feeling super achy and crampy if i continue to stand up or even walk more..
The bus arrive and I got up, felt more discharges coming out, sat down and off we go. Message mountain bear that I've completed the procedure and although I was in pain, I was hungry! Pretty hungry.. lol!! So told Mountain Bear to meet at this Food Court and let's have a quick lunch!

So after 1 hour has passed, I felt much better.. Not much of the pain.. Just mostly soreness around my lower abdomen and I finally manage to pee and poop! I was worried that my uterus was messed up and pretty much blocked my urinary tract. LOL!

So we manage to get some great meal and head home after.. I was so happy to be home! Showered and got changed. Had some hot compress applied on my belly and rest..
**Update
It has been 4 days and I still have some bloody discharges.. Almost like menses stains but lesser.. some brown stains and that was it. And i read online that it was normal.. As long that I'm not down with any fever or increasingly heavy discharges. So again, I was reminded that I should try to avoid conceiving these 3 months to ensure that my future child is not affected by the live MMR vaccine.

So now, I will be awaiting for my next consultation appointment with my Reproductive Doctor. Definitely I will update my progression.

So for those who are going or thinking of doing HyFoSy, I would recommend it as it helps to rule out the main issue on sub-fertility which is "Any Fallopian Tube Blockage?" and plus this is much more safer compared to HSG as the contrast dye might cause some allergy reaction. So yes! It may be uncomfortable for some people including myself, but I'm glad I did and spent that money for this procedure. Did i regret paying $600+?? No, actually it made me feel better that I know I'm all cleared from any blockage and I can continue my conceiving session soon! And for those who knew that they are having blockage tube, you should be happy too as you finally find the cause of why you are having issue to conceive. The Dr will recommend procedures to follow up to enhance the chances of having a child. So don't give up so soon! Miracle even need time to be created! And definitely GOD is GREAT!

...Castor Oil Pack For Fertility Boost?...

Have you ladies heard about this and the sworn most ladies has admits on this castor oil pack success?
It was my first time hearing this stuffs and as always, I decided to order the cold-pressed castor oil via online for 250mls for roughly $11 with postage few weeks back. I was pretty excited when I received it! Hahahaa!! Heard so many good reviews on the usage! Be it for beauty purposes to medically!

Castor Oil Pack Demo

I've attached this blog with a video on how it works.

I knew that Castor Oil has many benefits.. From hair growth, lashes, brow growth, fertility, fibroids & cyst reduction, liver detox etcs.. And was excited to know if the hype is worth it!!
Eggs! get it? Our Eggs, ladies?! Hahaha *Lame*

So since it says that the fertility pack can only be done on non period days, since now I'm having Aunt Flo visiting, so I decide to wait and have this applied on other areas of my body. And I was wondering if indeed it helps with regulating the menses! Will try it for the next cycle ya!

What does it smells like?
...Hmm... smelled like nutty wood I will say.. Well it's not that bad kind of smell yet not something you wish to inhale as a aroma diffuser essence. Mountain Bear dislike the smell.. But for me, if it works, why not! hahaha!!

Is it sticky or oily?
..Definitely oily! But the consistency is pretty thick.. Like honey! Also, it does leave some residual on your hands that you might need to wipe it off with a towel or simply wipe it with your hair! Don't waste it!

Can you take Castor Oil orally?
...Like all other nutty oils, it is safe to consume castor oil orally to relieve constipation and detox. But it is not adviced to have it taken for a long period of time, but if it was taken for a very loooooonnnnnggggg time, what it does, it will reduce the muscle tone "cramping" activities of the intestine which leads back to the problem again; being constipated. Also it helps to detox the liver and kidney! But please, seek Dr advice before swallowing a glass of it if you have some allergens or on some medications and stuffs! You wont' wanna risk ya lives on it..

Great for Skin Moisturizer & Treats Fungal Infection
..Yes!! I can agree on this! Been having itchy skins on my arms, likely due to dryness or some infection, had the oil applied directly onto the itching spot, poof!! It stopped! Clearly it helps but do continue to apply for not more than a week! Yayness!

Boost Immune System
Castor oil has strong immune enhancing effects that support and improves our lymphatic drainage. You can apply it as an abdominal castor oil packs to significantly increase the production of lymphocytes or white blood cells that help produce antibodies to fight invading pathogens. Why not give it a shot?!

Improves Blood Circulations
Yup! As it stated that it aims mostly on the lymphatic drainage, it also helps to increase the circulations to our vital organs as well! Usually for female, it helps us to regulate our period and also the passage to our reproductive organs to ensure fresh oxygenated blood is pumped around and into our missy uterus and twin fillo! Hahaha!! And it helps with joint pain too!

Removes Corns, Skin Tags & Warts
Well, I'm trying to find the other kind of "CORNS" but... You get what i meant!
Take a cotton wool, soak it in castor oil and press out the excess. Put the soaked cotton over your skin blemish and secure it in place with a bandaid. Some people use a piece of duct tape that works equally as well. The oil will soften the tags, corns, warts and all, within a few days and drop off without scarring. Remove and change the dressing every day until you achieve your desired results. Amazing isn't it?!!

Any many more benefits!! You may google the wonders or even hop over to youtube to see some videos on its benefits and such!

I will personally have it updated here alright! Like I say again, i will review it with the relation to fertility purposes eg. Fertility Abdominal Heating Massage Pack.

So yes!! That's it for today!
Hope you ladies and gents are doing well!
BUBBYE NOW!

...Aunt Flo & Sir Rubella...

AUNT FLO......

....came by suprise!!

I was not expecting to see her so soon or even this month! But then again, I was happy! Could it be that with the diet changes and taking in Metformin to have my glucose level controlled could regulate my menses to it's proper channel?
I was planning to have my Provera taken on the 20th October if she decided not to come. But she came early! 17th October and boy was I happy!

So decide to call the Diagnostic Department to make an appointment for my HyFoSy Procedure. As explained by my Dr, it has to be done by the tenth day of the new cycle! So it means that I will be going for the procedure on the 26th October 2017.

How do i feel about it? Anxious, Scare and Happy all at once!
So for the HyFoSy procedure, I was told that it cost $600 +/- and I could use my insurance, cpf saving & pay cash $300. And i assume there will be more rebate or deduction in price with some cards or subsidy. The procedure could take up to 2-3 hours depends on the smoothness of the procedure as the Dr will use a ultrasound device to scan through the fallopian tubes, uterus & ovaries, the recovery period and also how the individual feel comfortable to make their moves home. I was also given an Antibiotic to be taken on the morning of the procedure to prepare my body for any possible infections etcs..

So once the date has been fixed, i was told that it's great to get the MMR injection during my menses timing as to avoid possible pregnancy and also with this shot, I need to ensure that to practice safe protected sex for the next few months. There were records of fetal abnormalities during conception during the few weeks after the semi live vaccine has been administered to the mother. Also, I do not want to go through more depression or stress moments in dealing of such events or incidents. Which i will adhere faithfully and I'm sure Mountain Bear understands how important this is to me and using these period, i can start on my folic acid and also ensure my weight is perfect for conceptions.

And I was surprised too that, if i decided not to go for this check up, I could be exposed to MMR viruses as working in a medical background, I am bound to encounter patients from all over the world, who may be affected by some viruses and was not protected with a vaccine jab. And I'm also wondering, what happen to those kids who were born by parents that has no vaccines to MMR? Was there any deformities? Not only physically but mentally as well.. Has it affect the brain, heart or even other major organs in the fetus due to any diseases? This is a "debate-table" topic, on which i wished to be excuse from..
But.... I will definitely research on that.. if it concerns me so much..

So yesterday, 20th October, I decide to drop by to the clinic to get the Vaccine done on my CD4. Why so fast? Well, I wanna conceive as soon as possible, with that say, 3 months later.. Which means January 2018 I can start the conceiving plans. Hahaha!!

Insyallah.. The best planner is Allah.. We need to try our best and make an effort on it and don't expect for miracles to happen without any effort. Hehehe..
So drop by and the process took less than 10mins! Although they found out i was only allergic to Peanuts and Prawns & not to eggs, the RN really scan through and make sure that the MMR content was safe for me. Plus point for the effort and concern!! They were really nice team! And they treat me like their fellow nurse mate! The price is less than $50.. But i manage to get it for $11+ after subsidy!
Had it injected subcutaneously on my left arm. Subhanallah!! It was super painful!! Extremely painful and aching.. I had tons of needles stick into me with meds and stuffs. But this is really something!!
She mentioned I might be down with fever in the next 5 days.. mild ones which may or may not require Paracetamol.. So sat down, requested a copy of the results which indicated that my Rubella is negative & she also mentioned that usually last for 10 years. Well, obviously its over due.. lol!! Sat there for about 15mins to ensure no reactions or side effect..

So far so good! So, decide to meet Mountain Bear for early dinner at a newly open food Court that has a wide selections of Halal Cuisines and basically nearby location to our home via few bus stops! I started having this 'crawling' feeling at the injected side..
"Eh... the vaccine or virus is moving about ke?" said to myself.. Maybe it's starting to spread throughout my system! Hahaha!! Panic for awhile.. Hahaha!! Pretty sure it's normal as the vaccine was injected into a compact surfaces.. Needs time for it to spread and be absorbed.
So continue to dine out with Mountain Bear! He had Sotong Bakar Rice Set & I ordered Rojak India.. Not bad! Definitely will try out the other selections available!

Then at night right before I head to bed, had my shower, watch some cooking shows with Mountain Bear, I started to feel cramps, pins n needles on both of my upper extremities.. No giddiness or chest tightness.. So we decide to head to bed.. I tried to sleep but my head was saying you should not yet.. I have no idea why.. Then I started thinking about what could have caused this sensations I'm having..

..Hyperventilate?.. No..
..Panic Attack?... No..
..Breathlessness?... No...
..Low Blood Pressure?... Unlikely...
...High Sugar?...*alert*
...Low Sugar?...*more alerted*

So i got up, went off to get my glucometer to check.. I assume that I had high sugar readings.. But it turns out to be 4.9mmol/L which is something I rarely encounter in results.
Could it be a quick shift in the sugar level in body which cause this cramps? So asked Mountain Bear to get some Milo Cubes and munch on ones, in the hopes that the cramps will subside.. I then imagine if i decide to ignore what my brain say and sleep the whole night, my sugar might drop down to 4.3 or lesser! Mountain Bear helped to check my blood pressure and it was alright.. not lower than 120 and not higher than 130 systolic.

Elevated my legs and continue munching on the milo cube, started to feel the cramps subsided after 30 minutes. Managed to go back to bed as I'm working the next day!
So now, as in the next day, felt much better.. The jab site is still sore but bearable. I refuse to remove the bandaid. Hahaha!!

I will continue to update my progress and add in any great infos i had based on my experiences and also some great points in fertility. Till then!

Follow Up Updates...

.....It's Saturday and I'm at work!
Which is a good thing! I enjoy being here.. heehee...

So anyway! It's been a roller coaster ride for me with my hormone & more of my emotions!
And it has been a pretty upsetting and almost demotivated periods after receiving a call from the doctor..
Thou everyone around me may not detect or realised that i was having the internal emotional battle with myself upon receiving the news, I was pretty good at masking up those feelings towards most individuals. Although I was feeling extreme fragile upon certain words and actions portrayed. I'm starting to become more up front on stuffs, introvert, uncaring & less motivated at times which is clearly, NOT 'ME'.
I know.. people say, "hey, it's alright.. It's just 3 months for ensuring you won't get pregnant until the phase for the live vaccine has been given to you has subsided bla bla bla..." And that was not the main issue or concern I was facing..
Pretty much more of a reasoning with the creator.. Like wondering why it happens to me instead of looking at it postively and accept it as "Why not".. Well, maybe at that point of time I wasn't ready or expecting to received such news on my condtion.. Had me down for almost few days before making the effort to change it.

"Alhamdulilah I'm doing well on that part now and starting to recall the reason why Allah has given me this obsticles, which is what we as a creation needs to face and lead it with patience.. Maybe it was because I was pretty down with my emotions and hormones or denial state during that moment but I've snapped out out it.."

I took off from blogging for awhile as I tried to occupied my head with works, resting and medicate myself spiritually and physically.
So let's start on the following updates from the last post!

So pretty much, since then, I've started with my diet.. Less carbo and sugar intake.
I've also decide to start on Metformin 500mg 3 times a day to help stabilized and control my sugar level and helped with my PCOS insulin resistant issue.. Trust me.. My hypocount was like 12.2 - 16.4mmol/L in the past! I wasn't concern on that issue as conceiving wasn't a priority during that period in the past.
But once I've realised it could affect the chances of me, to conceive, I started taking on low dose Metformin. As advice by my Reproductive Dr, my clinic practitioner whom advice me to have Metformin as a start. I do know few of my friends who had Metformin 850mg x 3 daily, manage to have their sugar level controlled after taking it for at least 6months and has stopped taking them due to dietary alteration. Seems like a great start!!
So now, my hypocount readings were like between 5.4mmol/L - 8.7mmol/L daily since the visit to the reproductive back in September 2017. And I will be doing my OGT Test to check if I'm diabetic which is pretty common for those who had PCOS as updated by me Dr. And family history isn't going to be missed out from the list.
And yes, the side effects? Amazing Diarrhoea! LOL!! Surprisingly I don't mind going through this diarrhoea thingy.. Gave me a great feeling afterward. Felt lighter. I could endure that! Knew it would happened and I was doing great with that!

Seems that Metformin at a low dose has responded to my body well and also dietary too! My appetite has supressed greatly although i do crave at times for some specific dishes.. I will usually compensate what I ate yesterday for today if i had heavy dinner or high carb dietary. We tried to cut down on white rice, and switch to wholemeal tortilla wraps with more protein & fiber fillings like eggs, sausage, cheese, chicken or beef slices, salads & plain coleslaws. Also I love to add some spicy sauces too!! So a Burrito is what we love eating now.. Less dishes too! lol!!
We tried to include alot of raw veggies in it, which is packed with nutrients and also fiber!
Mountain bear was loving the wrap idea, easy to make, tasty, variety of fillings to add in and we almost had that weekly for dinners. Lucky to have him as a partner! Alhamdulilah!
We also started storing up mineral waters and cut down drastically on our soda drinks.. to maybe 4 250mls cans a month? Once awhile we would have those sweet drinks but flushed it with alot of water afterwards. And we try taking in fresh coconut water for electrolyte balancing. Amazing!
We had yogurts and fruits as our snacks.. Once awhile some crackers to go along.. Nuts.. Baked and Grilled Nuts are our TV munchies.. Once awhile, portioned chips as well.. :)

As for sports, I'm not really a fan. But Mountain bear loves riding his bike! And also he does some weights too as a form of exercise! Travel from mrt stations, shops to home on it if it's available.
Me? Hmm.. Not really a fan honestly but I could fast walk at work, weights maybe or stretches kind of exercise.. squats, sit up, cooking, house tidying... LOL!
But swimming is my kind of exercise! Just that I need to find the time and energy to make my way down to the public sport complex for a swim. So now, 80% of it I need to depend on my food intake as my source of chances and weight loss. Our home area was situated around a park which is clearly, a free form of walking exercise can be done to sweat it off!
So usually my diet intake will be reduce to twice a day now.. Breakfast and dinner before 1900hrs if possible. snacks can be consume after 1900hrs like nuts or yogurts while water is all around the clock for kidney cleanse and hydration!

As for while at work, I usually had my breakfast of Thosai or some sandwiches and skipped Lunch as I will be heading home soon to prepare food/wrap/burrito for dinner. I cut off caffine like Tea as much as I could and almost 89% of my intake is Chilled Mineral Water..

Alright then, I will update soon on my visit to the Reproductive Office and share with you ladies on the treatment and the results that I had!

Thanks!
